The Wine
We’ve long been fans of the Loire whites that Franck Chatelain produces at Noël Bougrier’s fourth generation family cellar on the river Cher. In this wonderfully vibrant rosé Franck has shown an equally deft hand with the region’s classic red varieties, too. The Loire’s 2015 vintage has proved exceptional, making growers from Sancerre to Muscadet smile from ear to ear. You’ll notice how the ripeness and concentration of flavour comes through in this wine from the Loire's top red grapes, Cabernet Franc and Gamay. After a gentle crushing, the juice was drawn off the skins to ensure a pale pink colour and cool fermented to retain the lovely raspberry flavours. Delicious on its own, it’s tasty too with grilled fish, salads or a creamy roulade.

So tasty and smooth – this is a real treat of a rosé that I keep buying again and again
