The Wine
Barons de Rothschild Lafite Réserve Spéciale comes to you from the same team responsible for Château Lafite Rothschild itself, a name “synonymous with wealth, prestige, history, respect and remarkable wines” (Robert Parker). We were friends with winemaker Charles Chevalier long before he took charge of the cellar at Lafite in 1999 and that’s how this exclusive cuvée came about. The grapes were sourced from selected vineyards across Bordeaux. So while we can’t promise you the same richness and sophistication as Château Lafite, we can certainly promise the Rothschild uncompromising stamp of quality. With deep colour, classic structure and unusually ripe flavours, this is classic claret to serve with roast beef, duck or T-bone steak.
