Moldova, a country with more vines per capita than any other, is a cornucopia of raw material that benefits today from modern know-how and investment. The result is some amazing quality, great value wines and we get the benefit of drinking them. No wonder this wine gained the most votes overall at last year's Vintage Festival. Customers remarked, it "tastes like a smart claret." It's from Château Vartely, one of Moldova’s top wineries. Vines grow in conditions very similar to those of the best plots of Bordeaux. Winemaking, from grape harvesting to barrel ageing and bottling, is under the watchful eye of 2014 Winemaker of the Year Arcadie Fosnea. This is his sumptuous, dark fruit Cabernet.
