The Spirit
If you’re looking for a digestif that’s a little out of the ordinary, we suggest you try this glorious XO Armagnac from Lionel Osmin, a specialist winemaker and distiller of South West France. Armagnac is France’s oldest spirit – they’ve been distilling it in Gascony for seven centuries. Unlike its more famous cousin Cognac, Armagnac is distilled once – rather than twice – which gives a spirit of greater complexity and depth of flavour. It’s then aged in oak to allow the spirit to mature and develop – a minimum of six years for an XO Armagnac. This particular brandy has been matured in finest French oak for double that time, which imbues layers of toasty vanilla to the spirit’s intense flavours of sweet spice, orange zest, prune and cocoa.
If you’re looking for a digestif that’s a little out of the ordinary, we suggest
Your guests will be very impressed when you bring out this fine 12 year old Armagnac after dinner
