We’ve been buying from this fine Chilean estate for nearly 20 years – and this brilliant, lightly tropical Sauvignon explains why. It comes from the Ossa family’s premium vineyards – irrigated by snowmelt and shaded by 1,000 year old palm trees.

The Wine
Owning one of the oldest estates in Chile, the Ossa family have worked hard over five generations to develop their vineyards, which produce Sauvignon of intense flavour. (Their richer soils, less favourable for vines, are used to grow Chile’s famous avocados and citrus fruit.) Given that the estate has in the recent past been voted ‘Best Winery in Chile’ and twice won the ‘Best Wine of Chile’ Trophy, you should expect an outstanding glassful here. You won’t be disappointed. In the hands of Viña La Rosa’s winemaker Gonzalo Cárcamo, this fabulous Sauvignon delivers intense freshness with crisp flavours of grapefruit, green apples and tropical fruit. It’s wonderful as an apéritif, or when paired with crab, grilled trout or mild Asian cuisine.
