The debut release of Marcelin was a winner and the latest vintage is packed with just as much delicious peach, nectarine and apricot flavour, with lemony freshness. No wonder there’s a resurgence of love for Burgundy’s classic grape, Chardonnay.

The Wine
Introducing a wine that represents true fighting spirit in more ways than one. In 1907 vignerons and growers in the Languedoc rebelled against the diluted wines flooding France and undermining their livelihoods – and laid the foundations for today’s appellation contrôlée system. This Chardonnay honours their stand and is named after their leader, Marcelin Albert. It also makes a stand for a grape that’s lost popularity in recent years. Hard to see why when it’s the varietal behind Chablis, indeed all great Burgundy whites. Expect layers of tropical fruit flavours, a dash of oak and an ultra fresh, elegant finish. Serve Cuvée 1907 chilled with fruits de mer or chicken, and raise a glass to Chardonnay and Monsieur Albert. Vive la révolution!
Introducing a wine that represents true fighting spirit in more ways than one. I
Rethink Chardonnay – this is gorgeous, just a touch of oak and real depth – lovely
