The Wine
So successful have Argentine Malbecs become that we sometimes forget that this country also produces stand-out Cabernet. Put the two grapes together and the result is this velvet textured, dynamo red packed with ripe fruits and pleasing aromatics. It’s from one of Argentina’s finest wineries and also one of the oldest, founded in 1890 by Pascual Toso, who 10 years earlier had set off from Piedmont in Italy for the New World. He settled in Mendoza and quickly saw the region’s potential. 125 years later, Bodegas Pascual Toso still pride themselves on quality, authenticity and innovation. The team is lead by winemaker Lucas Weinbraun and consultant Paul Hobbs (famous for his 100 point wines). Enjoy this rich red with grilled red meats.
