The Wine
Native to the Languedoc, Guillaume Bonzoms leads this innovative, modern cellar near Béziers that was founded over 70 years ago. And he knows exactly how to get the most from the local vineyards. He works with 167 small-scale family growers to produce wines that are “loyal to the philosophy that a glass of wine simply has to be delicious”. We certainly think he’s got it right with Saveur du Soleil – a blend of native southern varieties Grenache, Alicante and Syrah. Like its sister white, the wine is all fruit, with no oak, the fruit ripened in blazing Mediterranean sunshine and captured by careful fermentation. It’s a cracking red as a glass solo and easy going with a range of dishes, from roast vegetables with feta to spicy pork casserole.
