The Beer
Like many of the most enjoyable schemes, the idea for Signature Brew was hatched out in the pub. Cousins David Riley and Sam McGregor both worked as marketeers in the music industry and were sick of paying over the odds prices for insipid, big brand lagers whenever they went to gigs. So they decided to team up with master brewer Tom Bott to create beers inspired by music – and beers they’d be happy to drink while enjoying a show. So they quit their day jobs and Signature Brewery was born. Many of their craft beers are brewed in collaboration with musicians and the brewery is closely connected with the local community and London’s music scene. Brewed with classic Saaz hops, Studio Pilsner is a fine example from this SIBA Brewery of the Year.
