The Wine
Founded in 1883, Trapiche is one of Argentina’s leading wineries. Its many accolades include twice winning ‘Argentine Wine Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Every year, Daniel Pi, one of the most capable and knowledgeable winemakers in Argentina, chooses the three best Malbecs from a collection of 90 separate vineyards for Trapiche’s premium Single Vineyard range. The grapes for this fine red were hand harvested from Cristina and Bibiana Coletto’s 57 year old vines, vinified in small, open fermenters and matured for 18 months in new French oak. Rich and full bodied with dense black fruit and complex, integrated oak flavours, it’s a wine to serve with roast red meats, beef Wellington or spicy spare ribs.
