If you’re a fan of Alessandro Gallici’s classic Visionario white and rosato, you simply have to try this outstanding red. To source his fruit, Alessandro spends many a happy hour blasting up the B roads of the Valpolicella region on his vintage BSA motorcycle. For the best results he works with local winemaker Franco Cristoforetti, a master of the prized Ripasso style. First the wine is made from star local varieties Valpolicella’s Corvina, Corvinone and Molinara, then it is put into contact with the dried grape skins of recently made Amarone wine to bring even better structure and more richness of flavour. Three months in barrel have further enhanced Visionario Rosso’s satisfying character. A treat with grilled meats or spicy tomato pasta.
