The Wine
Visit the Coppola estate in Sonoma and you’re guaranteed an epic experience. Beyond the amazing winery, there’s fine dining, swimming pools, bocce courts (like boules), a movie memorabilia gallery, and a pavilion inspired by the bandshell in The Godfather: Part II! It’s all about fun, but the team in the winery are serious about quality. In charge of winemaking is 20 year veteran Corey Beck, who has worked at star cellars Inglenook and Chateau Montelena (the winery that catapulted California into the spotlight when its Cabernet beat top Bordeaux at the 1976 ‘Judgement of Paris’). Using California’s star grape Petite Sirah from Lodi, Dry Creek and Paso Robles, this red has serious fruit ripeness. It’s well cast alongside hearty meat dishes.
