The Wine
Domaine Génot Boulanger was founded in 1974 by Parisian pharmacist Charles-Henri Génot and his wife, Marie, when they started exploring the terroir and purchasing parcels throughout the Côte d’Or. Today the estate is run by fourth generation vignerons Guillaume and Aude Lavollée. All wines are produced from estate grown fruit from vineyards across 30 appellations, including three Grands Crus and 13 Premiers Crus, of which Les Vergers is one. They are in the process of converting to organic and biodynamic farming and, where possible, using horses to work the soil. This fine, oak fermented and barrel matured wine has a bouquet of citrus peel, apricot blossom and toasted hazelnuts. Enjoy with shellfish, roast poussin or goat’s cheese soufflé.
