RedHeads Lot 7 Shiraz 2016

McLaren Vale Shiraz has always been highly ranked in the Aussie Wine Hall of Fame and it’s has never been more polished and fruit driven than it is today. Max Allen, one of the more colourful wine writers Down Under, raves about “the sheer voluptuousness and richness of some of the wines – the sheer sexiness” that makes him “giddy with pleasure”. Lot 7 will likely have that effect on you too, so you might like to sit down before tucking in. The winemaker behind it at the RedHeads Studio is Dan Graham, who is insistent on intensity of flavour and impact on the senses. Aged in French and American oak barrels, this striking Shiraz is beautifully rich and perfectly balanced. Decant and serve with hearty, slow roasted mutton or a rich stew.
